Hobart’s Walk Against Elder Abuse promotes respect for people of all ages and spread the word that information and assistance is available through the Elder Abuse Helpline – 1800 441 169.
This year, the walk will be held on 14 June 2019, on the eve of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD).
We gather at 9.45 am for a 10am start at the Collins Street end of the Elizabeth Street Mall. Note that the time and place are different from last year.
The fifth annual Hobart walk will be led by the Minister for Human Services, the Honourable Roger Jaensch MP, and the Lord Mayor of Hobart, Councillor Anna Reynolds. Before we set off, the wonderful Sing For Your Life Choir will raise our spirits and determination with an inspiring song.
Morning tea provided by the City of Hobart will be available at Mathers House following the Walk.
If you or anyone you know is experiencing elder abuse, please call the Elder Abuse Helpline on 1800 441 169.
