Minds Do Matter explores the relationship between art and mental health, celebrating the power of art to be life enhancing and life affirming. In 2021 the theme is CONNECT. Minds Do Matter will be on display and open to the public at both QVMAG Inveresk and Devonport Regional Gallery commencing October to celebrate Mental Health Week.
WHY IS MINDS DO MATTER IMPORTANT?
The arts are an important mechanism in promoting health awareness and enabling long-term wellbeing outcomes. In the wake of recent statistics demonstrating Tasmania had the highest levels of hospital admissions for mental health symptoms, there is a growing push for community-based initiatives and systems. The Minds Do Matter exhibition has a strong history and tradition of connecting with this community and prompting discussions about the relationship between art and mental health.
