Online peer support is available for families and friends of people with mental ill health. This is an opportunity to chat and share information online with other people with similar experiences. As a support person, it is important to take a break and spend some time talking to people who understand what you’re going through.
Rosebery Neighbourhood House provides support to access and use Centrelink, MyGov, and NILS (No Interest Loans Scheme). Services are available every day by appointment, and NILS support can be done over the phone.
The Salvation Army Launceston and Launceston WayFM serve free (and delicious) egg and bacon muffins with coffee or hot chocolate every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with free dinners are served Wednesday. Anyone in need of a nice, hot meal is more than welcome.
TANA brings together people who work in the trauma and healing space to support people in their recovery from childhood trauma and move into a new life. It is a place for education and awareness around trauma and it's effects.
