DIGnity Supported Community Gardening – Nubeena

DIGnity Supported Community Gardening – Nubeena

Join the DIGnity team every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month at the Tasman Neighbourhood House in Nubeena.

DIGnity is a not-for-profit, therapeutic, community, supported gardening program that operates from two Community Gardens in southeast Tasmania. We provide an environment where people feel safe, welcome and able to participate in activities with other community members. We have a professional support team consisting of an Occupational Therapist, Mental Health Social Worker, artist and garden coordinator, plus many wonderful volunteers. The program is open to anyone from the community who would like to come along.

DIGnity’s overarching aim is to improve people’s wellbeing and quality of life through the creation of garden communities that are welcoming and well-equipped to support people with health and social needs. We aim to provide a therapeutic, supported environment for community members with physical or mental disabilities, cognitive constraints, and those who are socially isolated due to grief, chronic conditions or other reasons.
