Community Consultation & Partnerships

From time to time opportunities will arise for COTA Tasmania to make submissions and be involved in community consultation and research projects.  We feel it is important for COTA to represent older people, and all Tasmanians as they age, on issues important to our experiences of ageing.

Current Consultation activities

Healthy, Engaged and Resilient Consultation on Active Ageing

Complete our Active Ageing Survey here

COTA will be undertaking statewide consultation activities in 2022 about your experiences of ageing, and what you feel needs to be considered, funded and influencing future policy directions.  We are collaborating with community organisations, neighbourhood houses and Councils to arrange any in person events in a COVID safe way.

How can I get involved?

Organisations – please email 1-2 pages about your views on the current Active Ageing plan and the things your organisation or group feel should be considered in developing the 2023-2029 plan to brigidw@cotatas.org.au.

Submissions due end April 2022

(*Please include full contact details of your organisation within this submission).

Individuals – you can share your views by:

  • Completing our survey – whether you have 2 minutes or 10 minutes to spare we’d love to hear from you (please complete and share survey links as widely as you can)
  • Phone or email COTA to have a hard copy of the survey posted to you – 62 313 265 / admin@cotatas.org.au
  • Order some postcards to distribute in your workplace, local community group or local businesses – brigidw@cotatas.org.au
  • Text your thoughts of what healthy ageing means to you to 0477 011 112
  • Download and print a COTA H.E.A.R A3 Poster  to pop at your local club, group, shop, centre so others are aware of the consultation
  • Attend a small group community conversation – to be arranged with local groups, community centres and Councils.

Join in an online community discussion

As well as face to face and survey options, we will also be holding some online conversation sessions between March and June to ensure people are able to offer their views in a way that they feel safe and making it more accessible..

Dates are listed below, please contact Brigid to receive a link for the session (brigidw@cotatas.org.au)

  • Monday 7th March @ 12pm
  • Tuesday 5th April @ 8pm
  • Wednesday 11th May @ 1.30pm
  • Friday 17th June @10am

If you’d like more information or to talk about hosting a community conversation in your area, please contact Brigid on 62 313 265 or brigidw@cotatas.org.au
