Do you have an interest in the professional standards that health practitioners have to meet when they look after their patients?

Would you like to help develop information about these standards that is easy to understand and relevant to patients, carers and the wider community?

You are invited to participate in a small consultation session organised by Ahpra and Health Consumers Tasmania.

The consultation sessions have a limit of 8-10 participants. Each participant will receive remuneration of $45 to recognise their contribution and cover participation costs.

The consultation is specifically for patients, carers and members of the community who have not worked as a health service provider.

We will talk about the recently revised shared Conduct of Conduct for professions including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice, Chinese Medicine, Chiropractic, Dental, Medical Radiation Practice, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Osteopathy, Paramedicine, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Podiatry.

Participants will not need to do any preparation for the session. However, we will provide a link to a consultation paper and draft revised Code of Conduct to registered participants if they would like to read it beforehand. The Code has been written for health practitioners, and Ahpra will develop specific resources for consumers so is keen for your advice about what would work best.

Key questions Ahpra would like to discuss at this consultation session include:

  • whether you know about Health Practitioners’ Code of Conduct,
  • what kind of information you might consider looking for in the Code,
  • how Ahpra can help make the Code a more useful document for patients, carers and the broader community; and
  • how Ahpra can help people in the community learn about the Code.

Moring tea will be provided.

Please confirm your attendance and any dietary requirements as soon you are able via the registration links for Burnie (https://burnie24junecode.eventbrite.ca) and Launceston (https://launceston25junecode.eventbrite.ca).
