National Elder Abuse Conference Call for Abstracts Extended

Call for Abstracts Extended to 21 May 2021

The Call for Abstracts for the 7th National Elder Abuse Conference has been extended until 21 May 2021.

The National Elder Abuse Conference (NEAC) is the only annual conference specifically addressing elder abuse in Australia. The 7th NEAC, Walk the Talk: Stepping Up Together, will be hosted by Elder Abuse Action Australia (EAAA) and COTA Tasmania in Hobart on 14-15 February 2022.

Individuals and organisations who would like to make a presentation at the conference can submit abstracts for review until 21 May 2021. You can find out more on the COTA Tasmania website or go straight to the NEAC website to submit your abstract.

WEAAD Forum, 3pm 15 June 2021

In the lead-up to the conference throughout 2021, EAAA and COTA Tasmania are hosting a series of free online forums to address key elder abuse issues. Forum 2, at 3pm on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, 15 June 2021, is “Driving Long-Term Change: Australia’s Response to Elder Abuse“. This webinar features international and national experts, including co-author of the WHO’s recent Global Ageism Report, Dr Christopher Mikton, and EAAA Board Member and former CEO of the Seniors Rights Service, Russell Westacott.
