Being in control of your finances is the ability to make informed judgements and to make effective decisions about the use and management of your money.

Improved financial literacy can benefit anyone, regardless of age or income. Being able to make the most of your money, manage financial risks and avoid financial pitfalls can have a positive on not only individuals but families and communities.

People’s capacity to manage the financial side of their lives often declines as they get older and they find that they not only have to hand over the management of their finances (and often lives) to other people but without even knowing it, as they get older they become vulnerable and can be more of a target to the unscrupulous of this world.

So what things can we do as we get older to keep ourselves safe? To keep our hard earned finances safe?
